Fertile Ground Newsletter - January 2012
Hello Everyone,
Happy New Year to you all!  "Circular" is the word at the farm for 2012, following Nature's Cycle is a pattern of circles, one thing leading to another and eventually back to the beginning. So, where is the farm in that cycle?

Well, we added a new feature to our CSA Programs - A Spring CSA Share!

And of course having the ever-more popular Fall CSA Share again. Something's missing though......Oh yes.....

For 2012, there "will not be" a Summer CSA Program or Farm Stand.

My wife (Betsy) will be in school, working weekends, and finishing up an internship in Sleep Apnea. So, we had to get a little creative with the farm and all of the responsibilities it entails, and to our family life. Here's a quick rundown of "what will" and "what won't" happen at the farm this season.

What Will Be Happening at the Farm for 2012

  • We will have a 6 week Spring CSA Program at the Farm. Only 30 shares available.
  • We will have a 6 week Fall CSA Program at the Farm. Only 30 shares available.
  • Farm Classes will be offered in the Springtime, please see the webpage.
  • During the Summer, we will be growing specific items for the Fall CSA Program, specialty items for restaurants, and specific items for seed harvesting and animal feed.

What Won't Be Happening at the Farm for 2012

  • No Colorado Springs Summer CSA Program (some Colorado Springs members have expressed an interest in Spring/Fall CSA Shares & share the drive to the farm for CSA distribution).Update (as of 1-31-12; we have 2 families from the Colorado Springs area who have made a financial commitment. At least 6 would work out well to share the drive 1 time a week for 6 weeks.

  •  No Colorado Springs Farmer's Markets.
  •  The Farm Stand will not be open in 2012 unless you are in the CSA Programs.

Our family wants to thank you & your family for being with us in Pueblo & Colorado Springs for the past 19 years. We hope you will continue to be with us in the Spring & Fall shares for this wonderful and always changing journey. Should you have any questions or comments, feel welcome to come by the farm, or email or phone.

Our Email address will be changing soon and we will send email notices out and have it on our website.
