Spring CSA Program - 2012
Duration - 6 weeks. First distribution will be dependent on the weather and temperatures, but will most likely begin in May. We will contact you with a specific date as we draw closer to the 1st harvest.
Distribution Location - On the farm.
Distribution Days/Times - Fridays Noon to 6 pm and Saturdays 8:30am to Noon.
Cost - $150.00      A $50.00 signup fee by March 1st, 2012 is required to reserve your spot. The remaining balance to be paid upon 1st distribution.
Crops - This includes what we will grow for the Spring CSA plus or minus a few you see on the list. Asian greens, Heirloom Beets, Broccoli Raab, Heirloom Carrots, Cabbage mix, swiss chard, fava beans, chives, Japanese Turnips, Kale, Lettuces, Micro-greens, New Potatoes, Snap/Snow Peas, Radish, and Spinach.
General Information
Our Spring CSA Program will have many likenesses to our past & present Fall CSA program.
  • It will be unmanned for the most part and we will work with the "Honor System".
  • It is a "One-Size" share only and we will use the "Box-Share" method rather than the "Market - Share" method. This means, the farmer will pack a box for you with each week's offerings.
  • We will provide 2 boxes and rotate them each week, so we ask that you bring your box back each week & we promise to fill it back up!
We will try & accomodate any food allergies,  please mention any on the Spring CSA order form.

By purchasing a Spring Share with Country Roots Farm, I am contributing to the farmer's ability to continue to offer locally grown foods. I am making a financial commitment for the Spring season. Nature is unpredictable and even though I am guaranteed fresh produce for the Spring season, due to the inherent risks of farming, there are no guarantees on the exact amount of produce I will receive.

Update (1-31-12). There are 2 families who have made a financial commitment for the Spring share and to share in the drive. Any others interested?
